Obituary

MCFARLAND--Frank McFarland of Cottage Grove died in Eugene Thursday, October 23, 1969 at the age of 94. He was born in Cottage Grove September 14, 1875, the son of James H. and Sophronia Knox McFarland, early pioneers in the Cottage Grove area. He was married in Eugene to Elizabeth (Affolter) Happy who passed away in 1947 and was later married to Lena Veatch who survives him. Surviving besides his wife are 1 son, Millard McFarland of Salem; and 1 granddaughter. A son, Rex preceded him in death in 1942. The are many other relatives. Funeral services will be held at Mills Mortuary in Cottage Grove Monday, October 27 at 1:30 p.m. with interment in Fir Grove Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute to the Cancer Fund in lieu of flowers.

Note: His first wife was Elizabeth L. Affolter, daughter of Fred and Mabel (Layng) Orr-Affolter, who are buried in Brooklyn, Iowa.
