HARRY MORRIS DIES.
Former Grinnell Boy Dies at Marshall-
town, Friday night.

Harry E. Morris, a veteran of the Spanish-American war who for this last year has lived at Marshalltown, died Friday night at the soldiers' home hospital of cancer. He had been sick since Jan. 8 and underwent an operation a short time ago.

Mr. Morris moved to Marshalltown a year ago from Cedar Rapids, where he had lived for two or three years. He was an auto painter, with a shop in the Rude Auto Company's building.

He was born at Grinnell, April 9, 1875. He enlisted in Company K, 50th Iowa Infantry, at Grinnell, June 28, 1898, and was discharged at Des Moines, Nov. 30, 1898.

Mrs. Morris and eight children survive. They are Harold, Leona, Selma, Charles, James, Wilfred of Marshalltown and Lois of this city, and Mrs. Charles Pewick of Des Moines.

The funeral was held at the Wilbur mortuary at Marshalltown at 2:30 Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. N.W. Cleworth. The body was brought to Grinnell Monday forenoon and was laid to rest at 9:00 o'clock in the Morris family lot in Hazelwood. Rev. E. W. Cross of the Congregational church conducted a short service at the grave. Six Spanish war veterans were pallbearers. They were: Jack Foster, Ferd Keisel, Bert Abel, Chris McNally, John Mowitt and John McBlain.

Harry had made his boyhood home in Grinnell and has friends still here who regret his death at an age when most men are actively at work and who extend sympathy to the sorrowing family.

NOTE: Spouse is Sarah Jane "Jennie" Skeels Morris 1879-1965
