Miss Sarah Clay died last evening at five o'clock at the Community hospital after an illness of long standing.

Miss Clay was a woman of strong character, and was for a long period of years postmistress at Newburg, resigning about three years ago on account of failing health. She filled the position with marked ability and integrity and worked to make the Newburg office one of efficiency.

The funeral will be held Thursday at Newburg at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in the cemetery (Hickory Grove) at Newburg.

Miss Clay had been at the hospital about one month.
