FUNERAL SERVICES
HELD AUGUST 27

Funeral services were held Friday, August 27, at the Montezuma Presbyterian church for William LeRoy Tindall. Rev. G.R. Dieken conducted the services.

Casket bearers were Claus Smith, Martin Smith, Harry Quinn, Luther Larson, LaVerne Smith, and Charles Christiansen. Burial was at the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Montezuma.

William was born may 2, 1898, at Montezuma, the eldest son of William and Lillian Jackson Tindall. He spent his boyhood in Poweshiek county, graduating from high school here in 1918. He was a veteran of W.W. I.

December 25, 1920, William was united in marriage to Miss Irma Parks, at Kirksville, Mo. To this union two daughters were born. They are Mrs. Virginia Mills of Davenport, and Mrs. JoAnn Sloan of Quasqueton, Iowa.

In Jan. 1928, he was graduated from the College of Osteopathy and Surgery at Kirksville, Mo. He practiced a short time at Fonda, and at Eagle Grove. In Dec., 1931, he moved to Woden where het practiced until his retirement in 1956. For the past three years Dr. and Mrs. Tindall have resided on their farm between Arliington and Fayette.

William was a member of the First Presbyterian church at Woden, a member of the Darius Lodge 421 A.F. & A.M., of Britt, and of the Britt Chapter 318 of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a 35-year member of the American Legion, Woden Post 628.

He served on the Woden town council for 14 years, served as mayor for 10 years, and was active in many other civic projects.

William is survived by Mrs. Tindall; two daughters; two sons-in-law; and two grandsons, Thomas Lee Mills and William Henry Sloan; one brother, H.J. Tindall of Mt. Prospect, Ill.; two sisters, Mary, who is Mrs. August Buske and Evelyn, who is Mrs. Theodore Chamness, both of Montezuma.
