HARLAN MOORE

Harlan V. Moore, 76, of 429 Eight Ave., Grinnell, died Friday, Oct. 27, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Pallbearers were Harry Duffus, Darlo Kelting, Darrell Keenan, Jim Mullins, David Schippers and Cleo Smith. Burial was in White Oak Cemetery, Thornburg, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorials in Mr. Moore's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Presbyterian Church of Grinnell.

The son of Todd and Inez King Moore, he was born Dec. 24, 1912, a Thornburg. He attended school in that community.

On Nov. 29, 1933, he was married to Margaret Martin at What Cheer. The couple farmed in the Thornburg and Gibson area, moving to Grinnell in 1955. He was employed as a welder at Farmhand, Inc., retiring in 1980.

Mr. Moore was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Kendall of Rockwall, Texas, Roger of Plano, Texas, and Gene of Springville, Utah; two daughters, Nancy Evans of North Platte, Neb., and Judy Forster of Minneapolis, Minn.; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayne; and two sisters, Doris Decker and Ardis Soula.
