GREGORY E. GILBREAITH

Gregory E. Gilbreaith, 17, of Rte. 2, Kellogg, died of carbon monoxide poisoning Thursday, Dec. 14, at his home. The death was ruled a suicide.

Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at the Grinnell Christian Church with the Rev. John Epperson officiating. Organist was Marlene Toney, and pallbearers were Phil Gibbons, Billy Gilbreaith, Bobby Kriegel, Tom Loucks, David Morris and Steve Neighbors.

Graveside services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Cincinnati, Iowa, with the Smith Funeral Home of Grinnell in charge of arrangements.

Memorials in Gregory Gilbreaith's name may be made to the national Make a Wish Foundation, P.O. Box 117 A, Kellogg, Iowa 50135.

The son of Richard and Valarie Cowan Gilbreaith, he was born Sept. 24, 1972, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools and at the time of his death was a member of the junior class at Grinnell High School. He had been active in wrestling and football. He was employed at Taco John's and Wilcox-Garland Furniture in Grinnell.

Surviving are his parents; three brothers, Richard II with the U.S. Air Force in the Philippines and Chad and Jason, both of Grinnell; and his grandparents, Doris Gilbreaith of Grinnell and Gerald and Bonnie Cowan of Judsonia, Ark. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clyde Gilbreaith.
