Ann was born on March 16, 1947, in Grinnell, the daughter of Thomas Messenger and Evelyn Eleanor Latcham Moore. She was raised in Grinnell and was a 1965 graduate of Grinnell High School. After high school she attended a cosmetology school and was employed for several years as a hair stylist with Flossie Bell in her shop in Grinnell.

On June 16, 1973, she was united in marriage with Sheldon Lee Wright in Grinnell. While Sheldon served in the United States Army, they lived in Mannheim, Germany and later Fort Devens, Massachusetts. The couple later lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Montezuma and Guernsey prior to moving to their current home in Brooklyn. Ann enjoyed being employed as a hostess at several restaurants and while living in Brooklyn she was employed for 18 years at Kwik Star. She retired in 2012.

Ann loved her family dearly and thought of her nieces and nephews as her own. She enjoyed staying connected with her family and friends and hosting holidays with family members in her home. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening, canning her produce and the outdoors. She loved watching most western TV shows and movies; and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. She spent countless hours talking on the phone with Sheldon as he drove cross-country during the week and cherished their time together on the weekends.

She is survived by one sister, Terry (Thomas) Collum of Scotch Grove; three brothers, Tom (Jewell) Moore of Griswold, Russ (Pam) Moore of Oak Harbor, Washington and John Moore of Brooklyn; 11 nieces and nephews, Kaitlan (Brady) Fritz of Manhatten, Kansas, Thomas (Jess) Moore of Griswold, Lauren Moore of Brooklyn, New York, Angela (Victor) Fritz of Brighton, Brian (Rachel) Collum of the Philippines, Christopher (Jill) Collum of Plymouth, Minnesota, Darin (Angela) Collum of Manchester, Michael (Annaleah) Moore of Council Bluffs, Dustin (Patricia) Moore of Bell Rive, Illinois, Kayle (Ryan) Davis of Lincoln Park, Michigan and Matthew (Casey) Moore of Aviana, Italy; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Sheldon in 2007.
