CLINTON — Raymond F. Jorgensen, 95, of Clinton, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Alverno. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Private burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Raymond Fredrick Andrew Jorgensen was born on November 25, 1919 in Crescent, Iowa, the son of Nels and Hilda (Avery) Jorgensen. He was raised and graduated from high school in Omaha, Nebraska. He then attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1943 with a BS in Chemical Engineering. Raymond was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy from 1943-1946. He married Helen Hultman on June 28, 1944 in Wausa, Nebraska. Raymond was the manager of plant engineering with Clinton Corn for 27 years, retiring in 1981. Raymond was a member and 50 year elder of the Clinton Church of Christ, where he taught Sunday School for many years. He was a member of the Clinton Engineering Club and enjoyed singing in the barber shop quartet. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Raymond is survived by his wife: Helen of Clinton; two daughters: Kathryn (Calvin) Cossey of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Carol (Paul) Behrens of Clinton; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials can be made to the family, to be given to FAME, a medical mission organization.
