Graveside Services for Esther Allan
Esther Alexander Allan, 83, died Tuesday, March 21, at her home in Chicago, Ill. The daughter of H. E. and Minnie E. Wright Alexander, she was born Oct. 31, 1905 at Griswold and was graduated from Griswold High School in 1923 and from A. I. B. Business College in Des Moines in 1925. She made her home in Chicago and was married there to Alexander Allan of Chicago and San Josa, Costa Rica, where they lived until his death in 1977. Surviving are two brothers, John R. Alexander of Griswold and Denzil Alexander of Chicago. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald V. Alexander, and two sisters, Marie Young and Bernita Alexander. Graveside services were held Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at the Griswold Cemetery. Wagler Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
