Obituary
Edna Coffelt, daughter of J. H. and Bertha Coffelt, was born Sept 24, 1883 in Pottawattamie County, Iowa; departed this life March 2, 1904, at Topeka, Kansas. On May 28, 1902 she was united in marriage to C. E. J. Smith, at Avoca, Iowa. To them was born one child, a son, who died in infancy. Edna had been a resident of Oakland most of her life, coming here with her parents several years ago. At the time of her death she was a member of the Christian church of Oakland. She was of a sunny, cheerful disposition, and made many friends who regret her untimely demise. She leaves to mourn her loss, father, mother, husband, and many relatives. Appropriate funeral services were held from the home, Sunday, March 6, 1904, conducted by Rev. J. Wallace Larkin, of the Congregational church and was largely attended. Interment in Belknap cemetery.
