Obituary Notice
Mrs. E. R. Schauer, daughter of Julius and Wilhelmina Alff, was born in Germany. At the age of 18 months she was brought by her parents to America and settled in Illinois. A few years later the family moved to Pottawattamie County, Ia. In [July 22nd] 1891 she was married to Rev. Edward R. Schauer, and lived in Mancelona, Michigan until 1896 and in Fowler, Michigan until 1902. That year they moved to Whittlesey, Wis., where she died Feb 10, 1904. She was very sick for a year before her death, her trouble being ulceration of the stomach, rheumatism and heart trouble. She was 36 years of age. The interment was at Green Isle, Minn., the home of Mr. Schauer, Feb 16. She leaves a husband and five children – Lydia, Helene, Martha, Mary and Alfred. Two children passed to the other shore before her. Her mother, sister, Minnie, and brother, Lewis, visited her last September, and her mother, brother, Harry, and sister, Matilda, arrived from Iowa just a few days before she passed away.
