Early Rail Line Builder is Dead
August Ebert, 93, 215 Harmony street, died at his home Thursday morning.
Mr. Ebert was born in Germany but had resided about 70 years in this county. As a young man he helped build railroad lines into Council Bluffs and later farmed in Hazel Dell township until his retirement. He was a member of St. Johns Evangelical church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Clara Ebert; a daughter, Mrs. Fred A. Geise of Underwood, a half-brother, Otto Mills of McCelland, another half-brother in Germany and five grandchildren.
Woodrings funeral home is in charge.
