Long Time Farmer Dies in Bluffs
Fred W. Basch, 84, 119 W. Pierce St., a retired farmer, died Saturday at a local hospital following a two months illness.
Basch, a native of Pottawattamie County farmed in Lewis and Keg Creek Townships. He moved to Council Bluffs 10 years ago. He was a member of rural St. Paul Evangelical Reformed Church.
He is survived by four sons, Theodore, Arthur, and Ernest of Council Bluffs, and Ferdinand of Kansas City, Kansas.; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis Frohardt and Mrs. Alvera Basch of Council Bluffs, a brother, John Basch, Council Bluffs; two sisters Mrs. Mary Drinkuth, Idaho Falls, Idaho and Mrs. Carrie Weber who lives in Nebraska; 13 grand children and three great grandchildren.
Meyer Funeral Home is in charge.
