Mrs. Alvina Sewing. Services were held for Mrs. Alvina Sewing, 82, Friday afternoon at the Methodist church, with Rev. J.S. Wood in charge and internment at Woodbine.
She was born at Dumfries, Pottawattamie county, Sept. 12, 1866, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Viola Cleveland, Underwood. Here she grew to womanhood and was married to August W. Sewing, Nov. 3, 1887, who preceded her in death Feb. 13, 1934. They moved to Woodbine vicinity in 1906 where they resided on a farm, except one year in California.
Her survivors are her children, Mrs. Dora Janssen, Rivers, Calif.; Mrs. Gussie Ulmer, Woodbine; Oscar Sewing, Glendale, Calif.; Mrs. Lucile Mills, Dunlap, Ia.; and Mrs. Viola Cleveland, Underwood. Also a brother, Ferdinand Frohardt, of Council Bluffs, 10 grandchildren and three great great grand children.
