Oakland Couple Wed Fifty Years

Mr. and Mrs. F. Ben Taylor of near Oakland will observe their fiftieth wedding anniversary at their home Jan 1 with open house in the afternoon and evening for their friends and neighbors, their children have announced.

Mr. Taylor was born on the farm where he now lives, formerly known in the stage coach days as Taylor’s Station. With Mrs. Taylor they have lived on the farm for 50 years. They were married by the Rev John Blanchard, who later became a municipal court judge in Council Bluffs.

They have three daughters: Mrs. Lydia Flesher and Mrs. Majorie Canon, both of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Opal Killion of Red Oak.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Taylor held house Monday at their home 12 miles southwest of Oakland in honor of their fiftieth wedding and friends called to offer congratulations during the afternoon. Acting as hostesses were their three daughters: Mrs. Majorie Cannon and Mrs. Lydia Fisher all of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Opal Killion of Red Oak.
