Mount Pleasant, Mount Pleasant, Iowa -- opened in 1861
Independence State Hospital, Independence, Iowa -- opened in 1873
Clarinda State Hospital, Clarinda, Iowa --- opened in 1884

Polk County Asylum for the Poor and Insane
