Sorry...I didn't mean to confuse you. We think Ida May's maiden's name was "Spoon" Because on the adoption papers it list "May Spoon" widow of Charles W. Harrington. And when Ida May died, her last name was Herrington with an "e" not an "a"

We don't know where Ida and Charles were married. They lived in Iowa. All 5 children were born in Iowa.
The adoption reads:
This Article of Agreement made and entered into by and between the undersigned, the contracting parties, witnesseth:
1st- That May Spoon, widow of Chas W. Harrington parent lawfully having the care and providing for the wants of the children hereinafter named, and all of DesMoines in the county of Polk and State of Iowa desire to give and consent thereto, and by these presents do give and consent to give unto M.A. Fisher of Avon in the county of Polk and State of Iowa my children now being called and known by the name of Hellen (my great grandma), Evert, Keneth and Harry & Harold Harrington aged respectively 8,7,4 years each Harry & Harold Twins 18 months old for the purposes of adoption as their own child.
2nd-That the parties hereto desire consent and agree that hereafter said children shall be called and known by the name of Hellen, Evert, Kenneth, Harry & Harold Fisher.
3rd That in consideration of the gift of said children for the purposes hereinbefore named, I the said M.A. Fisher do, by these presents, adopt and confer upon siad children all the rights privileges and responsibilities which would pertain to the children if born to us in lawful wedlock.
Signed this 17th day of October A. D. 1913
May Spoon
M.A. Fisher

I hope this helps

Christy
