James (Jim) Bullington, Hartford, formerly of Runnells
James (Jim) Bullington, 74, died April 19, 2007, at Kavanagh House on 56th, in Des Moines. He died of Lewy Body Disease.
James was born in Runnells, IA, October 18, 1932. He was a graduate of Runnells High School. Upon retirement he worked as a PBX Installer for AT & T for 35 years. He was also in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Jim was a member of the Runnells Christian Church and the Carlisle VFW #2009.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ray and Hazel Bullington; four sisters and their husbands, Jane and Wayne Lovell, Mildred and Wm. Richardson, Ellen Lee and Robert Dickerson, Florence and Orville Davidson and one brother-in-law, Ivan Richards.
Survivors include wife of 22 years, Ellie Bullington, Hartford; three sons, Kirby Bullington, Pleasant Hill, Kevin Bullington, Des Moines, Jerry (Deb) Bullington, Runnells; daughter, Sherry (Gary) Johnson, Prairie City, IA; sister, Martha Richards, Hartford; three step-daughters, Lori (Ed) Kennedy, Indianola, IA, Karen (Brian) Coates, Norwalk, IA, Jenni (Jason) Adams, Newton, and sixteen grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2007, at Runnells Christian Church with Pastor Alice Bolen officiating.
Burial of cremains will follow in Lowman Cemetery.
Visitation with viewing will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle with family present from 4 to 6 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Runnells Christian Church Elevator Fund or Kavanagh on 56th.
Jim dearly loved Hawkeye sports, hunting, fishing, mule riding along with coon hunting, mushroom hunting and spending lots of time with his children and grandchildren.
