BERTHA BAGEN OBITUARY

In her 90th year, Bertha passed away peacefully at St. Peter's at Chedoke on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Born on August 7, 1931, she immigrated to Canada from Holland with her husband Albert in 1953 and spent 64 happy years building their life and family together until Albert's death in 2018. Bertha loved her husband and family above all else and dedicated herself to our success and making our home a warm and welcoming place for her family and friends. Outside of her home she was a long-term volunteer with the Catholic Children's Aid Society, a member of the church choir and enjoyed part time work at Sears.
Bertha is predeceased by her daughter Karen Rayment in 2003. She is survived by her children who were the centre of her life: Margorie (KC), Sharon (Ian) and John (Celine). She was a loving Oma to her grandchildren: Jacqueline (Phil), Dominique, Kate (Neil), Bryan (Laura), Brittni (Scott), Alexandra and Christopher and great- grandchildren: Abigail, Amelia, Charlie, Eleanor, Benjamin and Theodore. Bertha is survived by five sisters and two brothers. We are so grateful for the loving care our mother received from the many caregivers at St. Peter's during her 13 years in their care. Family and friends are invited to join us for a celebration of Bertha's life on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. will be followed by a memorial service and refreshments at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905-574-0405). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Charity of Your Choice.
