Gary Joseph Webber, 75 passed away unexpectedly April 26, 2022, at home. He was born January18, 1947, in Des Moines, the son of Louis P., Jr. and Mary Jo (Rand) Webber.

Gary served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia during the Vietnam War. After the war, he married Marian Sharp. They celebrated their 51 years of marriage in August. He worked for many years at Polk County before retiring.

Gary was preceded in death by his father and mother. Surviving in addition to his wife Marian (Sharp) are his daughter Tina (Tim), son Troy (Jamie); seven grand children Shelby (Johnny), Alyssa, Jackson, Devin, Jessica (Dakota), Jordan, and Tyler; One great-grandson Lucas; brother Louis (Jan) with two nieces; with plenty of extended family and friends.

Gary Loved his family and was looking forwrad to becoming a great-papo again.

His family will greet friends beginning at 10 a.m., with a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines, IA on Thursday, May 5th, 2022, followed by a military service at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Dr, Adel, IA at 12:30 p.m.
