JoAnn K. Joynt, 46, passed away on January 7, 2012 at Mercy Hospice, Johnston, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, January 9, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 10 at Grace United Methodist Church. A private family burial precedes the funeral. Memorial services in Blue Springs, MO will be held at a later date.

The second of six children, JoAnn was born on March 4, 1965. JoAnn lived most of her life in Des Moines until moving to Blue Springs, Missouri where she most recently worked for MAST Technology Inc.

JoAnn never met a stranger and loved being around people. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

JoAnn is survived by her Mom, Jenny Joynt; sisters, Jane (Mark) Sexton, Janice (John) Beals, Julie Joynt and Jill (Jerry) Melick; brother, Sean (Stacey) Joynt; several nieces, nephews and one great-niece. JoAnn was preceded in death by her Dad, Louis Joynt.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice Johnston or the American Cancer Society.
