Marie Blasco passed away February 12, 2012, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. She graduated from East High School and retired as a traffic manager for Southern Pacific Railroad. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and tap dancing, where she won first prize in a contest. She was a very devoted Catholic, loved cooking big dinners for her family, and adored her dog, Queen, who preceded her in death.

Marie is survived by her sister, Leona Freeborn; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Americas Church, 1271 E 9th Street. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Americas Church.
