Edward Ellis Arbuckle, 84, of Jefferson, Iowa was born April 23, 1928 and died Wednesday September 26, 2012 at his home in Jefferson.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Gladys Arbuckle, sisters Ruby Rains and Delma Countryman, brothers Bob and Donald Arbuckle.

Edward is survived by his step daughter Paulette Es Sriti of Monette, MO, 2 step grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren.

Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson with family greeting at 9:00 a.m. Memorials in Edward's name may be sent to Hastings Funeral Home 403 North Elm Jefferson, IA 50129. www.hastingsfh.com

Edward Ellis Arbuckle son of Frank Ellis Arbuckle and Gladys Shorey Arbuckle, was born April 23, 1928 in Jefferson, Iowa and died September 26, 2012 at his home in Jefferson. Ed was 84. Edward married Beatrice Fonfar and they lived in Jefferson. They were later divorced.

Ed served in the United States Army from September 6, 1950 until September 5, 1952. After his honorable discharge, he was active in the American Legion and was post commander in Jefferson for several years. He had worked for a chicken plant in his early years and at a time drove truck for Fairmont Foods in Jefferson. Ed and his brother Don played in a band Eddy Bear and the Cubs. He also enjoyed playing golf. Many remember Ed from his years at the Jefferson Waterworks. For many years he was employed by Culver Engineering in Jefferson where he worked as a construction inspector. After the firm became Otto-Culver, Edward continued to work and lived for a time in Storm Lake, Iowa. Ed worked in Des Moines and after retirement returned to Jefferson to make his home. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register Sun 30 Sept 2012.
