1929 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
West Des Moines

Robert H. Muenzenberger, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Bob was born on April 29, 1929 in La Crosse, WI to Gertrude (Schild) and Henry Muenzenberger. After graduation, Bob's career spanned many years in the transportation industry. He began his career in Milwaukee and there met Sylvia Jens. They were married in 1952 and began their life together with the first move to Mequon, WI where they resided for 18 years. Next they moved to Carmel, IN for 4 years and then to Hoffman Estates, IL for 33 years; and finally to Des Moines in 2010 to be closer to family.

Bob was an avid hunter and spent many weekends hunting with his sons. He was also a passionate volunteer for the Boy Scouts and never missed a campout with his boys.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Sylvia; sons, John (Beth) and Jim (Lisa) Muenzenberger; and his grandchildren, Christie (Travis) Birchem, Sarah (Chris) Fitzgerald, and James Muenzenberger.
