Joe Viola, 84, passed away on January 8, 2009, of Alzheimer's, at Karen Acres Care Facility, surrounded by his family.

The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2009, at the funeral home, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Joe was born September 4, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa to Frank and Theresa Viola. He is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and Air Force. After military service, he spent his career working in the automotive industry until retirement in 1989. Joe was an active member of Boline-Manfredi V.F.W. Post #9662 and he enjoyed dancing with his wife, Annie. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his wife of 55 years, Annie; son, Joseph Jr. (Karen); daughter, Vicki (Bruce); grandchildren, Todd (Tracy), Erica, Cole (Jordan), Margaret, Angela, and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Michelle.
