Mr. Robert Dickens, 82, passed away September 25, 2012.

A tribute service will be held in Gary, Indiana at a later date.

Mr. Dickens is survived by his caregiver and companion of 40 years, Mary Cannon Dickens; his children from his previous marriages Elaine Jacque, Rochelle Beard, Darryl Dickens, Janis Dickens and Robert (Linda) Dickens; his step-daughter, Phyllis Cannon; 20 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Mae Dickens and Daisy Chatman; his brothers, Joe, Nute and Earl Dickens, along with extednded family and many friends. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register Tues 02 Oct 2012.
