Oliver William Goin
(August 3, 1942 - December 26, 2015)

Oliver William "Bill" Goin was born on August 3rd, 1942 in Lineville, Iowa and passed away on December 26th, 2015 at the age of 73 in Des Moines, Iowa. Bill was born to William Hubert Goin and Etta Kathleen Goin (Bardwell/Decker). Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Garden Grove Cemetery East in Garden Grove, Iowa. Bill spent his early childhood with his grandparents, Oliver "Doc" Bardwell and Etta Gates Bardwell in Lineville, Iowa. The rest of his developmental years were spent with his mother and step-father, Forest Decker, and his younger brothers Sam, Andy, & Ben in rural Decatur County, Iowa.Bill was a good student and enjoyed school. He graduated from Leon High School, Leon, Iowa in 1961. After graduation, Bill entered the U.S. Army, completed basic training, and served in both Texas and California. Bill received a medical discharge from the Army and eventually moved back to the Midwest. Bill lived for a period of time in Kansas City, Missouri but lived the majority of his life in Des Moines. He worked in the printing industry and was recognized as an expert in certain areas and operated very complex machinery.Bill was a kind and thoughtful person who was well liked and regarded by many.Bill was proceeded in death by his grandparents and parents.He is survived by special friend, Juanita Germann of Des Moines, IA; brothers Sam Decker and wife, Sherrie of Unionville, Missouri; Andy Decker and wife, Vicky of Corydon, Iowa; and Ben Decker of Platte City, Missouri. He is also survived by niece, Andrea Decker Wyatt (Jeff) and family of Greenwood, MO; and nephews Chris Decker (Maria) and family of Des Moines, IA; Sam Decker Jr. (Nicky) and family of Kansas City, MO; and Shane Decker (Jenny) and family of Canton, IL.
