Mrs. T. W. Tuttle dies; services held Monday afternoon

Mrs. Theodore W. (Ted) Tuttle, 63, a lifetime resident of Pocahontas County, died early Friday (December 8, 1961) at Dickinson .County Memorial Hospital in Spirit Lake where she had been a .patient for three weeks.

Funeral services were held Monday, a family service at 11:30 a.m. at Hitchcock Funeral Home and final rites at 2 p. m. at First Christian Church. The Rev. Leland F. Grove, pastor of the church, officiated. Mrs. Paul Felsing and Mrs. Henry Carlson, accompanied toy Mrs. Dale Peterson, sang "In the Garden."

Pall bearers were Clarence Morgan, Gale White, Glen Millward, Robert Snow, Paul Baker and Paul Stearns. Burial was in the Laurens cemetery.

Born in 1898

Wilhelmina Tuttle, daughter of Pius and Josephine laschke, was born Feb. 16, 1898. After graduating from the Laurens Public School in 1916, she attended Iowa State College. She taught school in this vicinity until her marriage June 18, 1921, to Theodore W. (Ted) Tuttle. They farmed near Ware for five years, then lived in Pocahontas before returning to Ware where Mrs. Tuttle served as postmaster for 22 years until retiring at the time the Ware post office was closed two years ago. Since then they have lived in Laurens.

Mr. and Mrs. Tuttle were the parents of five children, George, Dorothy, Fern, Esther Ann and lona.

Survivors

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Fern (Mrs. Robert) Heathman of LeRoy, Minn., Esther Ann (Mrs. Leo) Wienhold of Independence; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister and a brother; one son,,George; two daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. C. M.) Otto and lona (Mrs. Robert) Zabloudil; a grandson, Gerald Heathman; and a granddaughter, Judy Otto.
