LITTLE CHILD IS CALLED BY DEATH

Last Kites Held Sunday for James Donald Whitaker, Pneumonia. Victim

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Basil Whitaker, of this city, was deeply saddened by the death of their little son, James Donald, at 4:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, February 18, 1938, after an illness of four weeks and four days of a complication of pneumonia, empyema and whooping cough, aged 2 years, 5 months and 5 days.

James Donald Whitaker was born September 13, 1935, in Akron, Iowa. He was an unusually bright and cheerful child, and during his weeks of illness and suffering was patient and uncomplaining.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Basil Whitaker; three sisters, Lorraine, Madeline, and Virginia; four brothers, Virgil, Philip, Robert, and Clifford; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard McCorkell, of Akron, and James Whitaker, of Durham, Missouri; great-grandmothers, Mrs. A. D. Lyons, of Richland, S. D., and Mrs. Lee Lemen, of Akron, besides uncles, mints, and cousins.

The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Leslie G. Williams, assisted by Rev. W. J. Zane.

Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
