AKRON, Iowa – Mrs. John F. Wilken, 65, Akron, died June 22 at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. June 25 in St. John’s Lutheran Church near Akron. The Rev. James Sandvik will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. June 24 in the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wilken, the former Delia Koch, was born April 9, 1911, in Akron. She was married Sept. 26, 1934, near Akron. They farmed in the Akron area until they retired and moved to the town in 1971.

Survivors include her widower; a son, Dennis of Akron; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Sharon) Davis of Omaha; six grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Herbert (Lillian) Schroeder of Hartley, Mrs. James (Lorena) Gabel and Mrs. Elmer (Minnie) Borchers, both of Akron, and Mrs. Evelyn Lief of Miami; and three brothers, August of Vancouver, Wash., Henry of Virginia Beach, Va., and the Rev. Lowell of Allison.
