George W. Casler, 72, lifelong Le Mars resident, died Tuesday (Feb. 28, 1978) at Plymouth Manor in Le Mars after an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 11, 1905, in Seney to William and Alice Hughes Casler. He lived his entire life in Le Mars, Merrill and Sioux City and was presently retired.

Mr. Casler was a member of Presbyterian United Church of Christ. His marriage to Ruth Starner took place June 6, 1938, at Rock Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Luken-Johnson funeral home in Le Mars with Rev. Ralph Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Union cemetery. Elbow Lake, Minn.

Survivors are his wife Ruth, a daughter, Mrs. Dick (Viane) Travers, Omaha; three sisters, Mary Ellen Schwortzkof, Brookings, S.D.; Mrs. Cleve (Ruth) Waiter; Port Hueneme, Calif,; and Mrs. Ed (Cora) Utesch, Le Mars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, and a daughter Gloria who died in 1951.
