William Barinsky, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John. Barinsky was born June 22, 1860, in Cedar County, Iowa. In the year 1885, on February 5th, he was united in marriage to Cordelia Schmidt at Lowden, Iowa. In that same year, he and his wife moved with his parents to Plymouth County, where they resided together on a farm in Johnson Township for; ten years. William Barinsky and his wife then moved to Preston Township, where they lived on a farm until 1918 when they retired from farming and moved to Le Mars. To the marriage union of Mr. and Mrs. William Barinsky six children were born, all of whom survive. Mrs. Barinsky passed to her eternal reward in the year 1938.

William Barinsky has for many years been, a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Congregation of Le Mars, and has for many years served as a member of the Church council of this congregation. He was also a member of the Churchmen's Brotherhood, and every year was honored as the oldest member of that organization of the church. Though not always able these last years to come to church every Sunday morning, yet whenever it was possible and health and strength permitted, he was found in his place in the House of God.
Mr. Barinsky has been in somewhat ill health for some time but was not confined to the sickbed for any period. Last Sunday after February 16th, while visit! Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Berkenpas and family of Alton were Friday evening visitor’s relatives in the home o, he suffe4red a heart attack and passed away to his eternal reward. His age at the time of death was 96 years, 7 months, and 234 days.

The deceased leaves to mourn his passing the following: six children, Mrs. W. E. Meyers and C19harles Barinsky of Colome, S. D., William Barinsky of Akron, Mrs. Ben Borchers of Le Mars, John Barinsky and Mrs. Henry Witt of Hawarden; one brother, John Barinsky of Le Mars; 2 sisters, Mrs. Emil Woll of Le Mars, and Mrs. Elizabeth Lorenz of Tallulah, Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren 7 great-grandchildren, and also a large number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial gifts in his memory have been given by Mr. and Mrs. John Barinsky, Dr. and Mrs. Walter W. Meyers, Charles Barinsky, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kahl, Mrs. Henry Borchers, and friend.
