Neil S. McKenzie

Neil S. McKenzie, 79, a resident of Westwood Convelescent and Rest Home, Sioux City, died Sunday (Nov. 13, 1977) at the home following a brief illness. He was a retired railroad conductor.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, with Rev. David Roy officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ellis Tucker, Wilfred Dirks, Lyle Jacobs, Emil Willer, James Hawks and Buzz Henke.

Mr. McKenzie was born July 7, 1898, at Tama, Iowa, and moved with his parents to Sioux City at age 6. He married Alice Scanlon Sept. 2, 1924, at Sioux City. She died July 17, 1977.

Mr. McKenzie was a conductor for the Chicago North Western Railroad for 53 years before his retirement.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. R.D. (Dorothy) Clark of Akron, and a sister, Miss Beryle McKenzie of Sioux City.
