Carol Albright, 81, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars with Pastor Timothy Geitz officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., all on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery in Brunsville, Iowa.

Carol Jean Farmer was born on September 28, 1936 in Le Mars, Iowa to Vernon and Mildred (Spies) Farmer. She grew up in rural Hinton, attending school in Hinton until her senior year in high school. Her family then moved to Le Mars and she graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1954. Carol was united in marriage to Marlin 'Bud' Albright on May 9, 1955 at Melbourne United Methodist Church in Hinton, Iowa. Bud and Carol moved to Oklahoma where Bud was stationed during his two years of active duty in the United States military. They then moved back to Le Mars, then to Brunsville, and back to Le Mars in 2008.

Carol worked at several different establishments during her life including: Vander Meer Bakery, Clear Vue Television, Hollander Dime Store, the Post Office in Brunsville, and Le Mars Community School as a janitor. But even with all those jobs, she was always first and foremost a full time mother and caretaker.

Carol enjoyed sewing and cleaning, and will be remembered as a wonderful cook. She and Bud were members of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Brunsville and later, Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Her love for her Lord Jesus Christ and her dedication to her church was what kept her marriage and family on a firm foundation.

Carol is survived by her husband of 62 years and 5 months, Marlin 'Bud' Albright; three children: Julie (Lanny) Schultz of rural Merrill, Deb (Arlie) Pick of Remsen, Iowa, and Darin (Kim) Albright of Milford, Delaware; seven grandchildren: Tim Schultz, Joseph (Julia) Pick, Alex (Mallory) Pick, Alan (Jessica) Pick, Jeana Pick, Emily (Kyle) Leyanna, and Chase Albright; 15 great grandchildren; brother, William 'Bill' (Connie) Farmer of Hinton; sister in law, Marilyn Wheeldon of Sioux Falls; nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and great granddaughter, Charlie Roseanne Pick.
