A service of remembrance was held Thursday afternoon, Dec 2, at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson for Gina Loryn Busch, 49, of Jefferson. The Rev Craig Blaufuss, pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ at Webster City, officiated. Honorary casket bearers were Annette Clark, Robert Jensen, Tom Clark and Mark Zieringer.
Gina Loryn Turicchi Busch died Nov. 27, 2010 at Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson after a six-month battle with colon cancer. She was born at Edna Gladney Adoption Home in Fort Worth, TX, on June 16, 1961, and was adopted by Carl and Margy Jensen Turicchi at age three weeks. Gina started school in Williams, and later attended Webster City schools. She then attended The Orme School, Kansas Wesleyan University, and was a graduate of Iowa Central Community College, and Iowa State University in 1996 where she received a bachelor of science degree in home economics, human development. In 1996 she married Gary D. Busch, living in Jefferson. They divorced in 2009.
Gina most recently worked for Iowa State Corrections in Fort Dodge. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, watching stock car races, and using the computer.
She is survived by her two dogs Freddy and Sota, her mother Margy Wood of Webster City, uncle Roger (Donna) Jensen of South Sioux City, NE, aunt Lydia (Arthur) Mahlmann of Rosenberg, TX, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her
father, grandparents, and her sister Lisa, who died in September 1991. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society - Colon Cancer.Tha Jefferson Herald --- Jefferson, Iowa
