Sophia Hilda, daughter of Gustas and Ingrid (Jonasson) Hullman, was born at Kewanee, Ill., November 17, 1875 and died at the Hand hospital in Shenandoah, Iowa Sunday morning April 16, 1950.

She had spent the past two weeks in the Hand hospital suffering from a heart ailment from which she seemed to be recovering.

At the age of two she moved to Coin, Iowa. The remainder of her life was spent in this community.

On October 12, 1897 she was united in marriage to Fred Gell. To this union two children were born - Donald Gell of Red Oak and Mrs. Tom (Hazel) Hill of Coin.

Mr. and Mrs. Gell celebrated their Golden Wedding on October 12, 1947 in their home in Coin.

Besides her husband, son and daughter she is survived by: three sisters, Mabel Scotton of Northboro, Eva King and Grace McMannama of Clarinda; one brother Charles Hullman of Coin, three grandchildren, Darrell and Jack Gell of Red Oak and Barbara Hill of Coin, ond great-granddaughter Connie Lou Gell of Red Oak.

At an early age she became a member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services were held April 18 at the Coin Methodist church. Burial was in the Elmwood cemetery near Coin.
