Alberta Viola Winn, daughter of John and Sarah Ella (Crees) Winn, was born in Cedar County, Ia., on June 30, 1879, and died at the Municipal hospital in Clarinda, Nov. 10 at the age of 70 years.

When she was about 8 years old she moved with her parents to western Iowa and lived most of her life in and near Red Oak. On June 7, 1899, she was united in marriage to Isaac L. Dilley, and to this union seven children were born, Llewellyn, Helen, Ruth, Paul, Ralph, Grace, John and and Grace's twin brother who died in infancy.

The family lived in or near Red Oak until 12 years ago when they moved to Nodaway. She has been a member of the church ever since she was old enough to join. At the time of her death and for many years past, her membership has been in the Methodist church in Nodaway.

She leaves her husband, I.L. Dilley, Nodaway, and six children, L.A. Dilley, Red Oak, Mrs. John Baker, Villisca, Mrs. Carl Johnson, Nodaway, Paul Dilley, York, Neb., Ralph Dilley, Dunlap, Ia., and Grace Dilley at home. There is also a sister, Mrs. Vesta Gillespie of Red Oak, four brothers, Harry, Frank, Merle and Charles Winn, all of Red Oak, 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Nodaway at 2 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, Nov. 12, conducted by the pastor, Rev. O.M. Rowe. The pallbearers were, Jack, Llew, Ralph and Paul Dilley, Max Johnson and Lawrence Baker. The music was by Mrs. J.R. Dismukes and Mrs. Harold Everett, accompanied by Miss Emma Jean March. The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Lester Watt and Mrs. Wm. O'Riley. The W.R.C ladies, of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery at Red Oak.
