Edson, (Lloyd) Harding 1917-1990

Lloyd Harding, age 73, of Melvin passed away Saturday at the Osceola Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church of Melvin. pastor Dale Jenson officiating.
Burial is in Holman Township Cemetery.
Edson Lloyd Harding was born on January 22, 1917, at Sibley, Iowa the son E.L. and Nellie
(Babcock) Harding. He grew up in the Sibley area and attended schools there. After his schooling he worked on the family farm.
In February of 1941 he was united in marriage to Alma Buss in the American Lutheran Church of Melvin. After their marriage they farmed near Melvin. In 1947 they moved to Rapid City, S.D. where Lloyd in the construction industry. Lloyd moved back to Melvin in 1964 to engage in farming once again.
Alma passed away in 1979.
Lloyd continued to stay active on the farm until his admittance to Prairie View Manor in November of 1989.
Last Saturday Lloyd died unexpectedly at the
Osceola Community Hospital at the age of seventy-three years.
Surviving are two daughters: Donna Sands of Los Angeles, CA, Deanna Harding of Rapid City S.D., one grandson; Jonathan Sands of Los Angeles, CA., one brother; Floyd Harding of Sanborn; one sister; Helen Scharlepp of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and two brothers.
