Cynthia "Cindy" Harper age 59 of Sibley, IA died Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Sibley, with Father John Vakulskas as celebrant.

Burial will follow in the St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in Sibley.

Cynthia "Cindy" Louise Harper was born on June 21, 1954 in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Mary Margaret (Bell) Cox. She was raised in Hawarden and Sibley, Iowa. She attended St. Andrew's Catholic School and graduated from Sibley High School in 1972.

On February 23, 1973, Cindy was united in marriage to Bruce Harper at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Sibley. The couple made their home in Sibley and to this union one son, Jaymie was born.

Cindy worked as a Daycare provider from 1976 to 1991, Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Inc. or Head Start from 1991 to 2004, and had a home cleaning service from 2006 to the present.

Cindy enjoyed life to the fullest and was an outgoing loving caring person. She loved to bask in the sun, boating at Lake Okoboji.

She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to popcorn beach and never missed her grandchildren's events.

She looked forward to her and Bruce's winter vacations in Mexico.

She loved to shop for good buys. Cindy liked to communicate with her friends and family through Facebook and when anyone ever needed help with anything she would be there. Cindy will be greatly missed.

Cindy is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Bruce Harper of Sibley, IA; son, Jaymie (Kelly) Harper of Sioux Center, IA; three grandchildren, Cassie, Shelby and Blake Robert Harper; sister, Diana Sue (Cox) Whidden (Gary) of Cleburne, TX; nieces, nephews and many other extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Mary Margaret Cox.
