Funeral services in memory of Walter G. Fox were held October 16, 1975 at the Hartley United Methodist Church. Rev. Lester Hancock officiated.

Walter George Fox was born June 6, 1877, at Dodsonville, Ohio. He came to Everly at the age of fourteen and had lived in the Hartley area for the past sixty years. He passed away at his home here on October 13, 1975 at the age of 97 years, four months and 7 days.

He attended the rural schools near his boyhood home. He was a farmer all his life. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hartley.

On December 12, 1903, he was united in marriage to Estella Flint. To them were born two children, one of whom, a son Orville, died in 1941. His wife Estella passed away in 1942. He was also prededed in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters.

His marriage to Bertha Richards took place on March 26, 1947, at Windom, Minnesota. They had resided in Hartley since that time.

Besides his wife, Bertha, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Ruth Irene (Mrs. Frank Anthony) of Santa Maria, California; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildre; six stepchildren: Hugh Richards of Warren, Ohio, Margaret Rutter of Saint Charles, Missouri, Anna (Mrs. Elmer Griffin) of East Moline, Illinois, Charles Richards of Milan, Illinois, Wayne Richards of Saint Charles, Missouri, and Eugene Richards of Mesa, Arizona; 22 step-grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
