Gwendolyn Faye Miller, daughter of Clifford and June (nee Puhrmann) Miller, was born July 30, 1948, at Le Mars, and died in an automobile accident five miles north of Cleghorn on August 31, 1964 at the age of 16 years, one month and one day. She had lived on a farm with her parents six miles north of Cleghorn all her life.

She was baptized on August 15, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church, Paullina, by Pastor Martin Peters. One June 10, 1952, she renewed her baprismal vows at the Lord's alter at a confirmation service with Paul Sohn as Pastor.

During her short life she taught a Sunday School class for one and one half years, was a mamber of the Zion Walther League, attended LSV school at Le Mars in 1963, and was active in other church work. She was a junior at Meriden-Cleghorn Community School, where she took part in concert and marching band and in girls' glee club, mixed chorus, and girls sextet, along with the regular course of study. She had attended this school eight of her ten school years, receiving her seventh and eighth grade eduction at Zion Lutheran Parochial School, Paullina.

She is survived by her parents; one brother, Paul, age 10; one sister, Nancy, age five months; three grandparents, Mrs. George Puhrmann, Sr. of Paullina, and Mr. and Mrs. John Miller of Cleghorn; several uncles, aunts, and cousins. She also leaves to mourn a host of other relatives, classmates, and friends.

Funeral services were held September 3 from Gaudian Funeral Home and Zion Lutheran Church, Paullina, with Pastor Paul Sorhn officiating. Final resting place was in Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina.
