Christian Linder (1829-1909)

Christian Linder was born in Hagsfelt, Karisruhe, Baden, Germany, June 4, 1829 and died May 4, 1909, age 79 years and 11 months.

Father Linder was married in 1853 to Magdalina Miller, with whom he lived 35 years, the date of her death being October 18, 1888. In the year 1856 they came to America and lived at different places: Benton County, Iowa, Iowa County, Dysart, Iowa; and after his wife's death, came to Hartley, O'Brien County, Iowa, in 1889 and lived with his son, Martin, the last twenty years.

There were nine children born to them, two having died in the old country and seven living to mourn his demise. The living are four sons and three daughters, Henry, Louie and Martin, of Hartley; Mrs. Marvin Albright, of Hartley, and one son and one daughter living at Dysart, Iowa.

Father Linder was a member of the Evangelical church for the last 33 years. The funeral services ere held Thursday in the Evangelical church for the last 33 years. The funeral services were held Thursday in the Evangelical church, the Rev. P. Schott conducting the services. Rev. Hunter of the M.E. church spoke a few consoling words in English.

The remains were interred in Pleasant View Cemetery.
