Mrs. Roy Tifft passed away Friday, October 30 at the Community Memorial Hospital at Sheldon after a short hospitalization.

Funeral services were conducted at the Sanborn Funeral Home Monday, November 2. Memorial services by the Mary Tifft Rebekah Lodge of Sanborn, Ia., November 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanborn Funeral Home.

Rev. Lanny Tuttle, pastor of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church was the officiating clergyman.

Mrs. William Dummett and Mrs. Lawrence Tifft sand, "Ivory Palaces" and "Rock of Ages. Mrs. Albert Parker was in charge of the flowers.

Casketbearers were Wilbur Smith, Leo Anderson, Gene Watters, Albert Watson, Donald Faas and Bert Kuiper.

Interment was in Roseland Cemetery with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sophia Sorenson, daughter of Nels and Marie Sorenson, was born January 24, 1899 at Rushmore, Minnesota. She passed away at the Sheldon Community Memorial Hospital October 30, 1960, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 6 days.

She spent her childhood at Rushmore until she moved with her parents to Archer, Iowa in December, 1915. She was married to Roy Tifft on May 5, 1921 at Spencer, Iowa.

With the exception of three years at Clinton, Iowa, she has resided at Sanborn. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Mary Tifft Rebekah Lodge, WSCS of the Methodist Church, Past President of the Women's Relief Corps and Past President of World War I Barracks Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Roy, one son, Gordon Of Los Angeles, California; one daughter, Lucille (Mrs. James) McCauliffe, Chadwick, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Dagel, Sanborn, and Grace Kleinheisel, Brookings, South Dakota; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother and one sister.
