Services in memory of Harold Gonnerman were held 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, 1990, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Rev. Stokes Snyder officiated. Committal service was in Pleasant View Cemetery of Hartley, with Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Harold LeRoy Gonnerman, the sone of Henry and Kathryn Steinlicht Gonnerman, was born January 27, 1907, at Dysart, Iowa. He graduated from Hartley Hight School and attended Mankato Commercial College.

He was united in marriage to Vera Adolf at Hartley on April 3, 1929. They made their home on a farm near Hartley until 1963 when they built a home and retired into town. For the last 12 years they have been winter residents of West Palm Beach, Florida, and summered at Arnolds Park. Harold and Vera were currently residents at the Hilltop Care Center at Spirit Lake.

Harold was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley, having been confirmed on March 20, 1921. He had been a member of the Consistory and the Brotherhood and served as President.

He passed away at the hospital at Spirit Lake on January 3, 1990, at the age of 82. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Clarence, and one sister, Sylvia.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vera; one son and his wife, Robert and Judith of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren {redacted], other relatives and friends.
