William Peters, 78, a longtime resident of the Sutherland community, passed away at his home Tuesday morning following a long illness. Funeral service s will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'¬clock from the Methodist church with Rev. W . L. Rowse in charge, directed b y the Baumgarten Funeral Home . Interment will be in Waterman cemetery.

M r. Peters, who was born at Marne, Germany, on September 9,1876, came to America when 14 years old, living first at Gaza.

He was engaged in farming for many years and spent about 42 years in business as a hog buyer and automobile dealer. He and Mrs. Peters moved into town in 1945, when he retired.

Survivors include his wife, Tena, and four children: Arnold, Anna Franks, Catherine and Donald; six grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Helene Back, of Alta.

Funeral services for William C. Peters, who died December 14, at his home following a long illness, were held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the Methodist church. The Rev. Alfred Yungschlager of Calumet officiated, under direction of the Baumgarten Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Harvey Drefke, Alfred Wittrock, Beach Nelson, E. J. Lage, Henry Toller and Chester Triplett. Interment was in Waterman cemetery.

Mr. Peters, who came to America when only 14 years old, had lived in the Sutherland community for more than 60 years. He was engaged in farming for many years, and for nearly half a century was in business in Sutherland as an automobile dealer, garageman, and as a hog buyer.

Survivors are his wife, four children, Mrs. Anna Frank, Arnold, Donald and Catherine; six grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Helene Back, of Alta.
