Edmund Ernest Straub Jr. was born January 27, 1923 at Paullina, Iowa to Edmund Straub and Anna nee Richter. He attended Zion Lutheran School. During World War II he served as a member of the armed services.

On October 24, 1948 he married to Nadine Lindstrom. To them were born three children, Timothy, Thomas, and Gretchen.
For the past seventeen years, he and his wife farmed in the Paullina area. All during his life he was active in his Christian life, serving also as a voting member of Zion of Paullina and as a member of its Stewardship board.

After spending about three months in Sioux City hospitals death came on March 8, at St. Vincent's Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Nadine, his three children, his father, Edmund Straub Sr; also three brothers, Kenneth of Paullina, Vernell of Clark. S. Dak, and Eugene of Ponca City, Okia, and one sister, Arlene, Mrs. Jack Smith of Sioux City.

A family service was conducted at home, followed by the service at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. Paul H. Soha officiating. Burial was in [West]Prairie View Cemetery.
