Mrs. Hannah M. Wilkins Van Tuyl was born in Camden, N J. on Feb. 5, 1855. She died April 16, 1934, having been for eight years an invalid after a paralysis stroke in Illinois.

On Jan. 9, 1878 the deceased married William E. Van Tuyl at Bigsville, Ill. A few years afterwards, in 1884, she moved with her husband to York, Nebr., where she remained until they returned to Illinois in 1896 to settle at Monmouth. In 1899 she went to Brooklyn, and in 1907 to Huron, where she lived until her passing.

There survive the husband, William E. Van Tuyl; twin sons, C. E., of Iroquois, S. D., and G. E., of Paullina; and a granddaughter, Helen of Paullina, the daughter of G. E.

Mrs. Van Tuyl had been a member of the Methodist church since she was sixteen years old. She was an active worker In the "W C. T. V" and in many other organizations for good.

Last rites were observed for Mrs. Hannah M. Van Tuyl, mother of Dr. G. E. Van Tuyl, of Paullina, last Thursday afternoon in the Paullina Presbyterian church. Rev. W. R. Clyde. Jr., was in charge, and appropriate music was sung by Miss Laverne Seagren and Mr Sherwood Thatcher. After a very brief service in the church interment was made in Prairie View cemetery.
