MRS. LULU CONN

Mrs. Lulu Conn, the daughter of John and Louise Nessley, was born February 19, 1874 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and passed into eternal rest on June 13, 1962 following a lingering illness. She had attained the age of 88 years, 3 months and 24 days.

She was married April 26, 1899 to Frank Conn, at Emmetsburg, Iowa. She had been a resident of the Hartley community since 1899, when she and her husband came here, and he began his practice of dentistry. They had one son, Rex Morris, who preceded his parents in death. In 1955 Mr. Conn passed away, but Mrs. Conn continued to live here.

She had always been active in community life, and together with her husband had engaged in many worthwhile endeavors. She was a life member of the Golden Sheaf Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Tuesday Club of Hartley.
Besides her husband and son she was preceded in death by one brother, John Nessley and one sister, Mrs. Maurice Seely.

Left to cherish her memory are a grandson, Richard Conn of Natlick, Mass., three greatgrandchildren, Margaret Frances, Rex Craig, and Marcella Elizabeth, as well as other relatives and a great many friends.

Services were held at the Baumgarten Funeral Home on Friday, June 15 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. D. D. Samuelson was in charge of the services. Pallbearers were Tom Hamilton, Art Linder, Felix Sicard, Lionel Jochums, Wm. Goering and Virgil Treimer. Interment was made at the Pleasant View Cemetery with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge.
