ANNA S. LUETHJE

Anna Sophia Luethje, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Tietje), was born March 8, 1885 in Scott Co. She passed away on March 30, 1969 in Hartley, Ia., at the age of 84 years and 22 days.

She attended the rural schools near her childhood home in Scott Co., then came to this area at the age of 18. She had lived in O'Brien County since that time, and had been a practical nurse all of her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hartley. She had also been a member of the Rebekah Lodge, and of the Royal Neighbors of America.

Sha was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Albert.

Survivors include one brother: Jerry Frederick Luethje of San Jose, Calif., two sisters: Alvina Luethje of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lillie (Mrs. John Collins) of Humboldt, Ia., several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and her many friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1, 1969 at the United Methodist Church in Hartley with Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Pallbearers were Lewis Collins, James Collins, Willard Hart, Don Fahlenkamp, Keith Luethje, and John Gabrielson. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley with Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
