Body Of Dwight Bress Is Being Returned Here
The body of Aviation Radioman 3rd Dwight D. Bress, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bress of here, is being returned from Manila aboard the United States Army Transport, Lieutenant George W. G. Boyce, and is due to arrive at San Francisco on or around June 3. The exact arrival time of the body of Dwight Bress here in Primghar for burial is not known at this time. Upon arrival it will be met by an escort from the Primghar American Legion. The Seivert Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Dwight's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bress, have expressed the wish that friends, who might contemplate sending flowers, instead contribute the amount toward a memorial fund.

Dwight Bress Is Laid To Rest With Military Honors
Full military honors were accorded to Aviation Radioman Third Class Dwight Bress, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bress, at funeral services which were held at the Grace Lutheran church here Wednesday afternoon, July 7th. The Chateau Thierry Post No. 36, of the American Legion, had charge of the ceremonies with the Seivert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Dwight was killed in action while in the service of his country in the Pacific Theater and his body was returned to the United States from an overseas cemetery for burial here in Pleasant Hill by Chief Petty Officer McGinnis, was met at the railroad station here Tuesday afternoon by a military guard, which accompanied it to the Seivert Funeral home.
Pallbearers were former schoolmates, who also saw service in World War II: they were Glendon Trowbridge, [Daniel Krumm?] Robert Cassidy, John Cassidy, Fred Kruckenburg of Hartley, and Irvin Wittrock.
Rev. Howard Lybeck, of the Grace Lutheran church, officiated at the service. Rev. Lybeck also saw active service in World War II as a chaplain.
